About NetDaemons

Who We Are

NetDaemons is written by two practising network engineers with 35 combined years of experience designing, testing, and deploying networks across the world’s leading vendors and service providers — spanning India, South Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and beyond, across use cases ranging from mobile packet backbones serving hundreds of millions of subscribers to enterprise WAN infrastructure for global telecoms.

We are not journalists who cover networking. We are engineers who have spent careers inside the technology we write about — at the vendor level, the operator level, and the deployment level. We currently work as network consultants in Bangalore, active in production networks across multiple geographies.

Our Background

One of us has spent two decades embedded in the engineering and validation teams of the industry’s most recognised networking vendors and large-scale service providers — working on carrier-grade routing platforms from design through deployment. The scope covers high-end IP routing architectures, Segment Routing, MVPN, QoS, forwarding plane features, and control plane behaviour under production-grade stress conditions.

The other brings extensive expertise in core network architecture, data centre design, and large-scale service provider deployments — specialising in translating complex multi-vendor network designs into reliable, operational infrastructure.

Our combined deployment record includes Segment Routing rollouts in Indian telecom networks, WAN automation and orchestration integrations for carriers in the Middle East and Europe, mobile packet backbone validation, EVPN implementations, and core and edge router upgrade programmes spanning multiple continents.

We have worked hands-on with platforms from every major vendor in this industry. Cloud networking, NFV, and Python-based network automation are not topics we cover theoretically — they are part of the environments we operate in daily.

Why We Started This

The networking content available online falls into a predictable pattern: vendor marketing presented as editorial, or SEO-optimised articles produced by writers with no hands-on experience. Neither is useful when a real decision is on the table — whether that is choosing a home router for a Jio Fiber connection or evaluating an SD-WAN platform for a multi-site enterprise.

We built NetDaemons to change that. Every article on this site is grounded in the same engineering judgement we apply in production. The standard we hold ourselves to: write what we would say to a colleague asking the same question face to face.

What We Cover

Home and Small Business Networks — Practical buying guidance and configuration advice for home users and small businesses across India, South Asia, the Middle East, and beyond. Our recommendations are grounded in real ISP conditions, varied physical environments, and the way people in these markets actually use and rely on their networks — not generalised advice built for a Western broadband context.

Enterprise Networking — Honest assessments of switching, routing, SD-WAN, and network management platforms, written for IT managers and architects who need engineering perspective, not vendor positioning.

Network Engineering Deep Dives — Thorough explainers on protocols and architectures, useful for engineers working toward certifications and IT leaders who want to understand what their teams operate.
